Hell's Canyon, 6-9 October

We finally made it to Hell's Canyon, after only 6 months of waiting!  Tracy's sister Kelly joined us, as well as some of the guys & gals from work.  Here are some photos from the trip, starting with the three of us at the put-in below Hell's Canyon Dam.

Tracy and Eric above Wild Sheep rapids, the first of 3 class IV rapids on day one.  We scouted it before we ran it so the guides could determine the right line to run.  Note Eric's awesome wetsuit....

Tracy with her river face on.  Note the oarboat behind us carrying all of our gear (including our kayaks!).

Tracy and Kelly above our day 1 campsite.

Tracy checks the map for upcoming rapids.

River buddies!

More river buddies!

Russ, our guide, "boofs" off a rock above the river...about a 12-foot drop.

Day 3, we got in the kayaks.

Action!  Tracy on her way up from a "confidence roll," practicing for the real thing if the river flips us over.

A nice shot of the canyon from "Suicide Point," a point on the trail about 800' above the river.

The last day we got up very early to get to the take-out.  When the sun hit the river, we got a little river fog.  Here's a great shot of Tracy paddling the last rapids before the take-out.

Sisters...Hell's Canyon complete!
